Blocktrotter

Blocktrotter Privacy Policy

Effective date: 9/25/2026

Blocktrotter is a block puzzle game for iPhone, made by Chris Hickey. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

The short answer is nothing leaves your phone.

What the app collects

Nothing. Blocktrotter does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information or usage data.

The app makes no network requests. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no in-app purchases. It does not

include any third-party SDK that collects data. It does not ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or any other permission.

What the app stores on your phone

To remember where you are in the game, Blocktrotter saves a small amount of game data in the app's own storage on your device:

  • levels completed, stars earned and stamps collected in each city

  • your best score

  • a game you left unfinished, so you can pick it up again how many times in a row you have lost a level, which the game uses to deal friendlier pieces after repeated losses

  • your settings, such as haptics, sound, background and tap-to-place

The app never sends this data anywhere, and I cannot see it. The one way it leaves your phone is your own backup: it is included in your iCloud or

computer backup like other app data, so your progress comes back when you restore a phone from that backup. Apple stores iCloud backups under your Apple Account and its own privacy policy. I have no access to them.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, Blocktrotter uses it for achievements. When you earn one, the app tells Game Center, and Apple keeps it in your Game Center account, where you and, depending on your Game Center settings, your friends can see it. That goes to Apple, not to me. The app never reads your Game Center name or player ID, and I cannot see who has earned what. Apple's privacy policy covers Game Center.

If you are not signed in, the game works exactly the same and nothing is sent. You can sign in or out, and choose who sees your activity, in your iPhone's Settings under Game Center.

Deleting your data

You can erase your data at any time:

  • Settings → Reset all progress in the app erases your scores, level progress and any unfinished game. Your settings stay as they are.

  • Deleting the app removes everything it has stored on your device.

Older backups keep their copy until you delete them or they are replaced. You manage iCloud backups in your iPhone's Settings under your name, then iCloud.

Because I hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for me to delete on request and nothing to export.

Crash reports from Apple

If you have turned on Share With App Developers in your iPhone’s Analytics & Improvements settings, Apple may send me crash reports and diagnostics when the app crashes. Apple collects these, not Blocktrotter, and Apple states they do not identify you. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. See Apple's privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ for details.

Links that leave the app

The Settings screen has links to this policy and to the support page. Tapping one opens the page in your web browser. What happens after that is governed by the website you are visiting, not by the app.

Children

Blocktrotter is rated 4+ and is safe for children to play. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children under 13 or any other age.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Blocktrotter changes what it collects, I will update this page and the effective date above before that version is released. The App Privacy section on the App Store listing will change at the same time.
